Cookie Lollipops

Pin It Now!
Kids love cookies, and they also love lollipops. How about cookie lollipops? I'm sure all the kids will love them too!
棒棒糖餅乾!

You can use any cookie recipe you like to make these cookie pops. Just remember to insert the sticks into the cookies before you bake them.

Marshmallow Snowman

Pin It Now!

This Christmas treat is simple enough for you and your kids to work together.
First, use a toothpick to hold together the hat and two marshmallows. Then put on Fruit Roll Ups scarf, toothpick arms and candy mittens. Finally, use some cookie icing to glue eyes, nose and buttons on the snowman.
The eyes and buttons on this snowman are made from sprinkles ( can be replaced by mini chocolate chips and Smarties); nose is made from a little piece of candy.
Umm...how about leave this marshmallow snowman by your gingerbread house or use it as a cupcake topper?

Ladybug Sandwich

Pin It Now!

瓢虫三明治.
This is a ham and cheese sandwich kids would love to bring to school for lunch. You need only a round cookie cutter and a straw to make this ladybug. Here is how:

-Make the sandwich
-Make the wings

The eyes on this ladybug are candy eyes. However, if I had any white colour cheese and nori at home, I would use them to make the eyes ( just like the way I made this turkey sandwich). Don't forget to glue the wings on the sandwich with some cream cheese if you are packing this into a lunchbox.

Snowman Cream Cheese Ball

Pin It Now!
Ho ho ho ~~~~ Merry Christmas!
I know it's still a bit too early, but I just can't wait to try my Christmas recipes!

用起司,紅蘿蔔,葡萄干做的雪人
This snowman is made of  plain cream cheese ( my son only like it this way). Of course, you can also add some salt, garlic powder, onion powder or white pepper! The nose is a small piece of carrot; eyes and mouth are made of raisin. That cowboy hat is a cupcake topper that I picked up from a bakery supply shop. Since I only used plain cream cheese, it took me only 10 minutes to make this snowman. It's a perfect appetizer idea for Christmas party with kids!

Babybel Cheese Ladybug

Pin It Now!
Babybel cheese is one healthy snack for anybody!

How do you like these two ladybugs? Aren't they the cutest couple?
I used a little knife and a small straw to cut the wax cover. The legs were made from toothpicks. Finally, I used a food writer to draw their eyes (you can use black sesame seeds if you don't have a food writer).
I believe not only kids, but also grown ups would love to have a little fun snack like this!

July 2011 update:
This Babybel ladybug idea was used on Parents magazine July issue. Hooray!

A Cute Turkey Sandwich for Thanksgiving

Pin It Now!

Gobble gobble.....
Canadian Thanksgiving was on October, so it has already passed. However, since most of my readers are from the States, I decided to make a turkey sandwich for them!
Does it look so much like the apple turkeys  I made two weeks ago?

This turkey is made with 2 slices of bread, 2 slices of bologna, lettuce, bread crust, candy eyes, cheese and red pepper. I think it looks cute even without the bologna sticks out! Also, if you don't have the candy eyes, you can use peas, nori, olive or fruit leather for the eyes.

2 Bear Sandwiches

Pin It Now!

Which sandwich do you like? Panda or  koala? I made these sandwiches for my son and his friend from school. Big mistake!!! I should have prepared two exactly the same bears. Both two boys wanted panda. I guessed it's because the candy eyes looked bigger on it.
If you are a mom with more than one kid, I bet you've already learned this lesson!

One Wiener Dog = 2 Crabs + 2 Octopi

Pin It Now!

Wiener dog is one of the items that I pack into my son's lunch box quite often! Not only because it takes so little time to prepare, but also it can be kept in room temperature for quite a few hours.
How do you like these little guys? It only take a few extra minutes to transform a wiener dog into these cute little bite size treats!
用小熱狗做的章魚和蟹....很簡單哦!

You can use either pork or beef dog. Veggie dog won't turn out good.

Tip: Half frozen wiener is much easier to cut!

Cook for a few minutes, then they are cute enough to be served!

If you have extra time, you can add some decorations.
I used cheese and black sesame seeds to make eyes and mouths. Pancake syrup was used as glue.

This is also a quick and easy appetizer recipe for kids party!

Mini Donut Maker

Pin It Now!

I got this mini donut maker on sale for 19.99 a few weeks ago, and I finally decided to give it a try last night. I thought it would be one of the things I bought that went straight to the storage after one use. Surprisingly, this small kitchen appliance worked much better than I expected!
迷你甜甜甜圈....自製的哦!

I followed the recipe on the manual exactly to make the batter. To be honest, these cake donuts didn't taste as good as the one you get from the donut shop. However, they are much much much healthier. My son and I both like the taste of these, and it's fun to decorate your own donuts :D

Apple Turkey?

Pin It Now!

It's thanksgiving season!!!
How do you like this snack idea? Pretty cute, huh? The idea came from my son's preschool art project. Of course, I made some little changes.
This is defiantly a fun Thanksgiving craft you will enjoy making with your kids!
特別為感恩節做的蘋果火雞!

-Make a turkey face

-Cut off the bottom part of the apple
-Use the cut off part as a stand

-Add toothpicks

-Add mini marshmallows and gummy candies (or whatever soft candies your kids like)

-Use a toothpick to hold the face on the apple

Here is a much healthier version: fruit turkey!

Build A Sandwich House

Pin It Now!

Halloween season is over >,< No more spooky lunches, and it's time to put away those ghost cookie cutters. It took me more than 2 hours this morning to take down all the Halloween decoration in the house. um...I think it will take me another day or two to get used to a living room without skeletons and spiders hanging around!
Anyway, I'm showing you this simple house sandwich today. Hope you like it ^,^
