1 Apple = 2 Fish ? (how to keep a cut apple from changing colour)
One of the most asked question on my blog is "how do you keep apple from browning?" You may have heard soking a cut apple in lemon water, orange juice, ginger ale or 7- up will do the trick. They all work! However, you may not have any of those in your kitchen. The easiest and cheapest way I found was using salt water. You have salt in your kitchen, do you? Soke apple slices in salt water (1 cup water/ 1 teaspoon salt) for half a minute will keep them from changing color. No, your apple won't tast salty! Don't worry about that ^,^ This trick also works on pear and pineapple!
This funny fish bone was cut from half an apple, and was held together by a pick. If you are giving this to a young kid, you may want to use juice box straw instead of pick or just place all the apple pieces on a plate. Those 3 bones in the middle of this fish could be replaced by cheese!

Play with your sandwich: Transform a crab into spider
This sandwich crab is made from 2 apple slices, 2/3 wiener dog, a sandwich ( could be any kind), 1 marshmallow, 2 mini chocolate chips and a piece of liquorice candy. It's a complete meal on one plate. Even the dessert is included!
You can use baby carrots in place of hot dog. Straws work too!
Now.... it's time to have some fun!
First, eat the apple on the plate.
Then, rearrange the sandwich.

The crab turns into a spider! A fun lunch idea for Halloween!
Let's have a bit more fun!
Here is a picture I took last month when we were on a camping trip.
Can you spot the crab?

Cheesy Boats
Before I tell you about my Babybel cheese boats, I would like to thank Chantale, the consumer service manager of Mini Babybel for sending me a whole year's supply of Babybels and Laughing Cow Wedges. Yippee ...... lot of cheese to play with!
How do you like my Angry Bird cheese boats? This is definitely a fun appetizer for your party! You can choose the stickers depend on the theme of your party. Won't it be so cool to have some pirate boats on the table? How about some pinkish Hello Kitty boats? I bet even the pickiest eater would love to have some of these!
Only 4 items required to make these:
Babybel cheeses, colored paper, toothpicks and stickers
Do you know Babybel comes in different colors? The one on the left is orange! I've also seen yellow and blue Babybels. I know there is purple one, but I have never seen it in the market.

Here is the other Angry Bird Cheese boat ^,^

Sandwich Sub
On my last two posts, I used straws to create umbrellas. Today, I used straws to create a submarine sandwich. A blue bendable straw was used to decorate this sub; bubble tea straw was used to cut the windows! If you can't find any bubble tea straw, you can use the straw from McDonalds. Just add more windows on you sub.
I placed some fish crackers on the plate to make this afternoon snack for my son a bit more fun. If I had green fruit leather at home, I would use it to make some seaweed! Tweet Pin It
One Wiener Dog = 2 Crabs + 2 Octopi
Wiener dog is one of the items that I pack into my son's lunch box quite often! Not only because it takes so little time to prepare, but also it can be kept in room temperature for quite a few hours.
How do you like these little guys? It only take a few extra minutes to transform a wiener dog into these cute little bite size treats!
用小熱狗做的章魚和蟹....很簡單哦!
You can use either pork or beef dog. Veggie dog won't turn out good.
Tip: Half frozen wiener is much easier to cut!
Cook for a few minutes, then they are cute enough to be served!
If you have extra time, you can add some decorations.
I used cheese and black sesame seeds to make eyes and mouths. Pancake syrup was used as glue.
This is also a quick and easy appetizer recipe for kids party!
