Have you ever bake biscuits yourself? It was my first time! No, not from scratch, I used the ready to bake biscuits from the supermarket.

Guess what I was trying to make? Bear? Yes, that was the plan. However, it didn't turn out the way I expected.






Tada.........I got biscuit frogs!

One went into my tummy, the other two were packed into my son's bento. 

I also made 2 bunnies.

 One of these turned out pretty cute. The other bunny's ears didn't stick out, so I just ate it ;p
 

PS, I used food writer to draw the eyes and mouths on the frogs.

Cutest Food Idea: Egg Lion

I got an email from a reader, Catherine who is planning a safari day with her grandsons. She must be a super cool grandma! My grandma only made ugly looking Chinese food for us ( tasted super good though. yum yum....). Anyway, I came up with this lion idea, hope her grandsons like this lion as my son did.

-Besides egg and wiener dog, these are what I used to create this cute lion:

If you don't have food writers, you can just use ketchup to draw the lion's body. It's a bit difficult though. Or you can serve the lion's head only. It's cute too!

Here is one more: haha....I'm really not good at drawing. Roar ~~~

Oh No ~~~ My Snowmen are Melting!

Do you remember the marshmallow snowmen I made a few weeks ago? With one extra step, these snowmen got a whole new look! They are now the melted snowmen.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Place graham crackers and marshmallows in a baking dish

- Cover it up loosely so that the marshmallows won't turn brown
- Bake for 12 minutes in the preheated oven ( I used the little toaster oven)

- Meanwhile, prepare snowman's heads

 - Place heads on the heated marshmallow then press them down a little bit

- Wait for them too cool down then decorate the snowmen the way you like

PS: I heated up a chewing candy in microwave for 10 seconds, then I used it to make mittens for my snowmen.

Pirate Sandwich

How do you like this pirate sandwich? Pretty cool, huh? My 5 years old son told me the older kids in his school loved this sandwich!
I used toast stamper to print the picture. Have you ever heard of toast stamper? I didn't know there was such thing until I saw one in the store.

Eyeball Burger

This mini beef burger was the first Halloween theme lunch I made for my son to bring to school this year. I used food writer to draw the blood vessels in eye. The center of the eye was made of cheese and nori ( a slice of olive will do the same trick). I think this eyeball burger would be perfect for halloween party as well!

Speaking of food writer, I have to say it's a wonderful item to have in your kitchen if you have kids. You can use it to draw on food that has dry and smooth surface such as hamburger bun, hard boiled egg, cheese and marshmallow. I even use it to write messages on my son's plate.
