Hot Dog Caterpillar

Pin It Now!

ewww.....I know, and I think so too! I am scared of any creatures on the ground with too little or too many legs. But trust me, boys love this! They will be more than happy to finish their snacks or breakfasts if they are served this way. I have seen quite a few hot dog caterpillars before. Some use seaweed for legs, some use pretzels and some has no legs. The one I'm showing you got ketchup legs! Making this caterpillar is quick and easy. You need to cook the wiener dog first, cut it in half, then cut the face and body. Don't have to make the eyes if you don't have much time, just draw some ketchup legs. ( It looks kinda scary without the eyes!)

- I used Swiss cheese and food marker to make the eyes.

So...what do you think? are you ready to eat your first caterpillar? How about making one for your boyfriend, husband or dad? They may like it too!

  21. Creepy-icky. I hate most caterpillars (woolly-bears are the only exception)and this thing actually looks more like a centipede to me, which is even worse! The # of legs thing really gets to me - acceptable # of legs, 2 or 4 unless # was reduced due to injury or illness (3 legged dogs can be quite cute to watch run around. It's all good if it gets a kid to eat something other than candy and cheesy-poofs, though.

  22. LOL...I know it looks more like a centipede! I called it caterpillar because it sounded not as scary :D

  26. I'm desperated... I can't find the food marker in Spain!! I could buy them through US Amazon website, but shipping cost are terrible compared to the value of the markers!! any idea on where getting them?

    ReplyDelete
  27. All I can think of is eBay!
Or forget about the food markers. There is an alternative! You can use food coloring and a tiny paint brush ( size of a eye liner brush) to draw on your food!
